Whether it’s being involved in emergency care, such as resuscitation in the Emergency Room, or providing treatments and therapies for our medical or surgical patients, the Respiratory Care department is an integral part of patient care here at North Valley Hospital.
Our Respiratory Care staff works closely with physicians, nurses and other departments to help provide a thorough approach to the prevention and treatment of respiratory problems or disorders.
North Valley Hospital's Respiratory Care department provides the following services:
- Oxygen therapy
- Aerosol and humidity therapy
- Inhaled medication administration
- Chest physio therapy
- Spirometry screening
- Mechanical ventilator support
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Maintenance of natural and artificial airways
- Pre & Post Bronchodilator Pulmonary function studies
- Equipment procurement and patient instruction
- Nursing staff education and support
- 24/7 “On Call” support
Our professional therapist also encourages patients to become partners in their own respiratory care by providing educational input and being there to answer questions regarding diagnosis and treatment.
Outpatient Services
In addition to caring for hospitalized patients, the Respiratory Care department conducts diagnostic testing, care, and treatment for outpatients who are referred to North Valley Hospital by their physician.
