VA Clinic

The Tonasket Family Medical Clinic is under contract with the Spokane VAMC, and will be providing the following care to Veterans who live in and around Okanogan County:
- Primary care
- Laboratory
- Basic radiology imaging
- Emergent pharmacy needs
*The VA services are limited to clinic services. At this time we are not able to provide Veterans with services through our In-patient, or Emergency Department.
Who Is Caring For You?
The VA Clinic operates within Tonasket Family Medical Clinic in Tonasket, and has been serving our Veterans since February 2011. We have one Doctor, and two Nurse Practitioners serving out Vets, and we’re in the process of recruiting another full-time doctor. One of our Registered Nurses’ who works in the VA Clinic is a veteran herself. Our medical staff are very proud of the service we are providing. Although this is a new endeavor for us, we are exceeding the projections made by the Spokane VAMC.
Transfer of Care
If you would like to transfer your care to the Tonasket VA Clinic and currently are under the care of the Spokane VAMC or CBOC please contact the clinic for an appointment.
If you are currently under care at another VA or Private clinic and wish to transfer your care contact the Eligibility Department at the Spokane VAMC at (509) 434-7009 for assistance.
VSO Office (Veterans Service Officer)

Shane Barton graduated from Tonasket High School in 1987, and went on to join the Army. He served with 10th Special Forces for nearly 10 years, and traveled most of Europe, South West Asia, and Bosnia. Shane has been inbusiness management for 15 years, and will be very effective in his position as an accredited Veterans Service Officer, as he is a disabled veteran himself. He's recently moved back to Tonasket, and is very excited to be working with the veterans and families of our community.
Readjustment Counseling Services
The Spokane Vet Center is providing our VA Clinic in Tonasket with an on-site Readjustment Counseling Technician. This program was established by Congress in 1979 out of the recognition that a significant number of Vietnam era vets were sill experiencing readjustment problems. Vet Centers serve war zone veterans from the following periods of hostilities:
- World War II
- US Merchant Marines in ocean-going service
- Korean War
- Vietnam War
- Vietnam-Era Veterans not in War Zone
- Lebanon
- Grenada
- Panama
- Persian Gulf
- Somalia
- Yugoslavia
- Global War on Terrorism
- Sexual Trauma
- Bereavement
The Spokane Mobile Vet Center will be in Tonasket March 1st & March 15th.
