ATTENTION! North Valley Hospital District's VA contract is set to end on July 31, 2017.  At this time we are keeping the dialogue open to renegotiate and keep our clinic in Tonasket. We are encouraging our community members to contact our city, state and federal representatives to express your concerns about the closure. The Tonasket VA Clinic is under contract with the Spokane VAMC until July 31, 2017 and provides the following care to Veterans who live in and around Okanogan County:

  • Primary care
  • Laboratory
  • Basic radiology imaging
  • Emergent pharmacy needs
  • Referrals to specialists

*The VA services are limited to clinic services.

Who Is Caring For You?

The Tonasket VA Clinic has been serving our Veterans since February 2011.    There are currently two Doctors and two Nurse Practitioners with extensive knowledge of the VA healthcare system serving our Vets at the Tonasket Clinic.   We are very proud of the care we are providing our Veterans.

Transfer of Care

If you would like to transfer your care to the Tonasket VA Clinic and currently are under the care of the Spokane VAMC or CBOC please contact the clinic for an appointment.

If you are currently under care at another VA or Private clinic and wish to transfer your care contact the Eligibility Department at the Spokane VAMC at (509) 434-7009 for assistance.

Tobacco Cessation Telehealth

Telehealth classes are now available at the Tonasket VA Clinic the 3rd and 4th Friday's of every month from 1pm to 2:30pm. You may call your VA Primary Care Provider and ask them to submit a consult. Then call 486.3107 to be added to the class roster. Any Veteran may call 1-800-325-7940, option 1, ext. 7619 (509-434-7619) to discuss tobacco cessation medication options or to get help creating a plan to quit smoking.

Readjustment Counseling Services

The Spokane Vet Center is providing our VA Clinic in Tonasket with an on-site Readjustment Counseling Technician. This program was established by Congress in 1979 out of the recognition that a significant number of Vietnam era vets were sill experiencing readjustment problems. Vet Centers serve war zone veterans from the following periods of hostilities:

  • World War II
  • US Merchant Marines in ocean-going service
  • Korean War
  • Vietnam War
  • Vietnam-Era Veterans not in War Zone
  • Lebanon
  • Grenada
  • Panama
  • Persian Gulf
  • Somalia
  • Yugoslavia
  • Global War on Terrorism
  • Sexual Trauma
  • Bereavement
