Opioid Epidemic Response
At North Valley Hospital, we are committed to confronting the opioid crisis head-on. Through compassionate care, responsible prescribing, and strong community partnerships, we are working to prevent addiction, support recovery, and save lives. From emergency care to long-term support, our team is dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based treatment options while promoting education and awareness. Together, we can build a healthier, more resilient community.
Narcan Distribution:
NVH participates in a Washington State program to provide the overdose reversal drug, Narcan, to anyone for free or without a prescription, or need to be seen by a medical professional.
Our goal is to ensure this life-saving medication is readily available to everyone who needs it.

Drug Disposal Kiosk:
North Valley Hospital offers a secure, anonymous drug disposal kiosk located in our main lobby. Community members can safely dispose of unused or expired medications—no questions asked. Proper disposal helps prevent misuse, protects the environment, and supports our efforts to combat the opioid crisis.
Opioid Oversight Committee:
North Valley Hospital’s Opioid Oversight Committee is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to ensuring safe and effective pain management practices across our organization. The committee reviews prescribing patterns, monitors compliance with best practices, and promotes education for clinicians and patients alike. Our goal is to reduce the risk of opioid misuse while supporting high-quality care and recovery resources. Through accountability and collaboration, we are working to make a lasting impact on the opioid crisis in our community.
