Edition 5
Construction Update:
The fun continues! The construction crew is well into demolition on the second floor, but the basement is still not quite wrapped up. The plumbers have had several setbacks in connecting to the old pipes. While we have access to areas we are trying to upgrade the pipes to avoid further issues, but as with any old building it doesn’t always go smoothly.
Mariann Williams
I’m happy to announce Mariann is joining the Tonasket Family Health Clinic for a few days each week while we continue to recruit an additional ARNP or PA to work alongside Dr. Jex. Mariann has worked as ARNP in our community in various capacities for a long time and I’m sure many of you know her. Welcome Mariann!
Weather:
We have some extreme weather here and colder temperatures on the way. We are hoping for an uneventful next week but the low temps can cause issues in our buildings. The maintenance team is working hard to keep the snow and ice clear and monitoring the heat and conditions of pipes. Our EVS crew always does a great job watching the entrances for slippery conditions but we can all have a safety focus for slippery conditions inside and outside.
Resolutions:
For the past few years, I’ve done fitness-focused new year’s resolutions:
2021: Push-ups
Start with 1 push-up on January 1st, and then each subsequent day do one more than the day before.
This is terrible. Never do this.
2022: Miles
For my family of 4, we committed to walking/running 2022 miles in the year, or about 5.5 miles a day.
This was great, highly recommend it.
2023: Calories
Track my calories and eat only 2,023 daily (adjusted up for exercise).
This changed my eating habits quite a bit and caused me to lose weight. Hard to get started but was effective for me.
2024: Lifting
I’m hoping to lift 2,024,000 pounds this year. I’ve never done any weight training, and I don’t think I’ve been in a gym since high school, so this might be a terrible idea.
Do you have a resolution for the new year?
