NVH Newsletter August 2025
Nursing Assistant Graduates:
Once licensed, the students can begin working in a healthcare setting, including hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. Many of our past graduates went on to complete nursing programs and play a key role in keeping healthcare local.
Applications are open for the next class and can be found here: www.nvhospital.org/nac
Regional Planning:
Earlier this week, we had representatives from the Rural Health Redesign Center visit our campus as part of their tour of the county hospitals. They have been engaged to facilitate a project in the county to explore options for the three hospitals to work together. This effort pre-dates the Medicaid reimbursement cuts, but given the upcoming financial headwinds, we are approaching this work with more urgency in identifying how to improve care and the sustainability of the three hospitals. The scope of the project is open-ended, but we hope to find some solutions that help every hospital.
Medicaid Cuts:
There has been a lot of local and national media attention about the pending Medicaid cuts and their impact on our local healthcare system. As we discussed in our previous newsletter, there are many aspects of the bill that are hard to quantify or are not yet known, but if you still have unanswered questions, we would be happy to answer what we can. Give our CEO, John McReynolds, a call at 486-3128.
