Edition 44
Board Meeting:
Our June Board meeting time has changed from 7pm to 4pm on 6/25. The schedule change is to accommodate presenters from the Rural Health Redesign Center who will be sharing the recommendations from a project looking at hospital services in the county to the Board of Commissioners. The project has been a year long collaboration between NVH-TRH-MVH looking at how to best serve the county.
To save the suspense-the recommendation are not transformative, but rather targeted cost savings or revenue generating ideas. These non-binding recommendations will be presented to each Board, but if you are interested in hearing it for yourself feel free to join in next Thursday.
Education Funding:
We are starting to see funding opportunities for education in various pathways that are part of the Rural Healthcare Transformation Fund. While we have been celebrating Amber, Alyssa, and Sonia acceptance into RNEP, there are other Grow Your Own programs we are applying for. Rachelle was funded to pursue an additional certification as a pharmacy tech, and we have applications pending for tuition reimbursement for a lab and rad tech. We are drafting a grant for buying an new fleet of simulation equipment, and are excited to find more projects to support.
Verbeck Building and Road Construction:
As the Verbeck Building soffit work is wrapped up we can all look forward to road construction, yippie! We think 1st Street (between the EC and Confluence) will be getting a chip seal on Thursday. The City schedule says to avoid parking on the road from 6am-6pm.
Parks and Rec:
The Tonasket Parks and Rec is soliciting feedback on recreation opportunities in our area. If you are interested here is a short survey: Tonasket Park Survey
