Edition 17
Cerner:
Today kicks off the train-the-trainer event, which takes selected employees from each department and gives them a two or three-day training event that is held over Zoom. Each user has had some exposure to the system either through the Learning Journeys or from our last training rounds, but this is still a lot to digest this week. I’m predicting robust Dripline coffee sales this week.
UKG:
Hopefully, everyone’s transition to UKG went as smoothly as possible, and although we are still working through a few kinks with the system, I’m pleased with how it worked (and that we all got paid). A significant improvement from our prior system is a more detailed method for all employees to review their punches, suggest changes, and ultimately approve their timecards.
Our goal is to ensure we prevent errors, reduce manual changes, and capture all time worked appropriately. We all have a role to play by completing the attestations about any missed breaks, and approving our punches. HR is a great place to get more information if you have any questions about the system.
Respiratory Season:
I sent an email last week announcing that the Extended Care was in outbreak status for Influenza A. The team has done a fantastic job of following their process for an outbreak, and we are hopefully on the tail end of this event. Lauri Jones from Okanogan Public Health gave kudos to the team for their prompt reporting, plan in place, and success in preventing further infections. I’d also like to recognize Dr. Di Croce for her timely response and care of our residents.
Across the county, we have high levels of influenza and continuing cases of COVID and RSV.
My mother and father in-laws’ dog Arlo wants to be outside all of time. He is pictured here wishing someone would come outside and play with him also.
Resolutions:
In 2024, I successfully lifted 2,024,000 pounds which took my the entire year. I’ll forgive you if you didn’t notice any change to my physique because apparently that wasn’t an effective weight training goal. For 2025 I am trying to average an hour of cardio a day. So far it seems doable, but we’ll see if I make it. Happy New Year!
