Edition 18
Cerner Updates:
We continue to march towards the April 7th go-live date, and our next significant milestone is the 2nd Integrated Testing Event next week for the clinical departments. We have two weeks to complete the assigned learning journeys to help prepare everyone for the new system.
Construction Work This Week:
This week we will have teams onsite completing the commissioning for the new HVAC system. This step ensures the system is working as designed, and we have all already been troubleshooting known issues related to controls and airflow. This process will confirm those areas and make sure we get everything figured out and functional.
Job Posting Changes:
HR sent out a guide to the new job postings and applications process. I’m excited about this update to create a streamlined, uniform process for applicants. Check out the job postings here:
Regional Hospital Planning:
Several months ago, I provided an update about efforts to bring together the county's three hospitals to conduct joint planning efforts for the future of hospital services. Over the holidays, there was not much progress, but meetings have resumed, and we hope to make some progress. The most time-sensitive aspect of planning efforts relates to the facilities’ condition at Three Rivers & Mid Valley Hospitals. Both districts need to invest in new or remodeled buildings, and Three Rivers in particular, is feeling the need to do so as soon as possible. Last year, Three Rivers went to the voters for a bond to build a new hospital, but it did not pass. They are now considering a remodel instead of an entirely new building. Mid Valley is still waiting for the arrival of their new CEO, which could delay the planning process as we bring them up to speed. All that to say, not much has happened, but I’ll keep you in the loop.
Is it Spring yet?
