NVH Newsletter September 2026
See Us at the Oroville Farmers Market:
We love getting out into the communities we serve, and this weekend gives us a great chance to do just that. We invite everyone to stop by our booth at the Oroville Farmers Market this Saturday. We will be participating alongside other local healthcare entities as part of their health fair-focused event, chatting with community members about NVH, our available services, and answering any health questions you might have.
Advancing Patient Care and Technology:
Our rural health transformation projects are moving forward at a steady pace. We recently received approval for several initial projects, and we are excited to share that we were also awarded a competitive grant focused on provider technology. While we are still finalizing the contracts, this upcoming investment will transform acute care rooms by replacing traditional whiteboards with interactive displays. These new screens will help patients and families stay connected by supporting communication, entertainment, education, telehealth, and video calls with loved ones.
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month:
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, an important reminder that mental health is an essential part of overall health. Mental health struggles and crises can impact anyone, and breaking the stigma surrounding these topics is crucial to saving lives. We want to remind our community that support is always available. If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, feeling overwhelmed, or experiencing a mental health crisis, please remember that you can call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline anytime for free, confidential support. Taking care of one another means checking in and making sure people know they are not alone.
Proactive Safety: Understanding MOAB Training:
Keeping our patients, visitors, and staff safe is a top priority. Early next month, in partnership with Mid Valley Hospital, we are rolling out a new series of de-escalation and self-defense classes using the MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) program. MOAB training focuses heavily on proactive strategies, verbal and non-verbal communication, and compassionate conflict resolution to recognize and manage challenging behaviors before they escalate. By equipping our team with these tools, we ensure a secure, supportive, and therapeutic environment across our facilities.
Thank you for being such a resilient and supportive community. We look forward to seeing many of you out at the farmers market this Saturday!
