Growing Healthcare Close to Home

CEO Newsletter

Edition 9

Soccer season can be exhausting.

Everything is in Construction!

Walking into work and through the campus today, I counted a technician working on the MRI trailer, the second-floor work with Swinerton, and the installation of a new air conditioner for laundry. The floor projected in the Extended Care also started yesterday. I know these projects are disruptive, particularly the crane work last week. Getting the three units on the top of St. Martins is a significant milestone, but now we are looking at the first-floor work. We are also planning for the installation of the new CT in the coming months.

Community Newsletter:

A few years ago, we started mailing a newsletter to every household in the District twice a year. After some consideration, we’ve decided to transition to an e-newsletter. We are sending a final mailed copy later this week to explain the decision. If you are interested in receiving the community newsletter, you can sign up with either your personal or work email at the top of the page at nvhospital.org.

Regional Planning:

As we continue to search for opportunities for the county hospitals to work together, our discussions have been impacted by the Mid Valley CEO, John White’s announced departure. He is moving out the area, and MVH’s CFO and COO will serve as Co-interim CEO’s while MVH’s board recruits for a new CEO. We are hoping to keep the momentum on the planning efforts.

Hospital and Nursing Home Week:

I have not always excelled at recognizing and acknowledging each of the special weeks and days, but as I was reflecting on the importance of our roles in healthcare, I wanted to encourage us to take this opportunity to celebrate each other and the incredible community we have built together. Your teamwork, compassion, and dedication inspire me every day, and I am genuinely grateful to be part of such an extraordinary team.

Soccer Season:

With two kids in soccer right now, my wife and I attend four practices and a few games each week. It can be hectic keeping track of the schedules, locations, and cleats. However, it is fun seeing many fellow NVH employees at the fields with their kids doing the same thing.
